What is the Infrastructure Services Team responsible for?
Our Infrastructure Services team is responsible for partnering with internal Engineering to design, build, and perfect our IT infrastructure, which serves as a foundation to Franklin Templeton’s business apps.
We leverage cutting-edge technologies, such as generative AI, cloud computing, best-in-class automation, and many more to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that meet the needs of our internal clients and stakeholders.
What is the VP, Infrastructure Operations responsible for?
The VP will define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for IT infrastructure operation services, aligned with the business goals and priorities;
manage and oversee the delivery of IT infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget compliance; manage a small internal team ( 10) which oversees a large number (>
100) of outsourced resources operating Franklin’s overall infrastructure; and lead and mentor a team of IT infrastructure managers, engineers, and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of the VP, Infrastructure Operations?
- Manage Franklin’s outsourcing for infrastructure operations
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business units, vendors, partners, and regulators
- Ensure compliance, per regulatory requirements, with IT policies, standards, and regulations such as security, privacy, and governance
- Partner with supporting organizations, providing engineering, architecture, and financial support to improve overall operations for Infrastructure
- Monitor and evaluate the performance, availability, and reliability of IT infrastructure services, and implement corrective and preventive actions as needed
- Demonstrate Franklin IT’s core values of being accountable, outcome oriented, growth minded, strategic, and empowered, and supporting same in your staff
What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
Critical
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a proven track record of leading large-scale projects and teams.
- Expertise in cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and their services.
- Expertise in operating datacenter and cloud-based infrastructure, including servers (thousands of physical, virtual and IaaS), storage (petabytes), backups, batch management (millions run per month), file transfer, disaster recovery
- Strong knowledge of ITIL best practices, including service design / transition / operation, and continual service improvement
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders
- Experience managing vendors and related contracts and budgets above $10M per year
Preferred
- Experience in DevOps, agile, and lean methodologies, and tools, such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, or Terraform
- Knowledge of emerging technologies, such as machine learning, blockchain, or edge computing, and their implications for IT infrastructure
- Proven ability to manage additional teams such as Networking / Voice, and Database Administration operations
What technology skill sets are critical to the success of this role?
- Certifications in cloud technologies, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Demonstrate your passion for IT infrastructure and your ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and trends.
- Highlight your achievements and impact in IT infrastructure projects, and how you have delivered value to the business and the customers.

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks.
There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
We expect the salary for this position to range between $220,000 and $250,000.
