Job Summary : The Sr. Controls Engineer is responsible for creating and implementing control software packages within set deadlines and budget constraints, ensuring compliance with customer contract specifications and satisfaction.
This position involves developing, designing, and integrating software with electrical and mechanical systems, focusing primarily on Siemens Simatic PLCs and HMIs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop control software, ensuring seamless integration with electrical and mechanical systems.
- Create and commission software specifically for SIEMENS SIMATIC controllers and HMIs.
- Develop, install, and debug PLC / HMI code on job sites, ensuring proper system commissioning.
- Work on software utilized in automotive plants for automation equipment to support customer product assembly.
- Commission components, systems, and solutions at customer locations, ensuring optimal functionality and integration.
- Plan and carry out required tasks, prepare detailed reports, and document commissioning outcomes.
- Assess system behavior and the interaction of individual components.
- Conduct hand-over to customer personnel and provide necessary training.
- Participate as a test engineer in admittances, routine, and type tests, supporting or specifying the required testing equipment.
- Supervise and guide commissioning staff as necessary.
Qualifications :
- Over 5 years of experience with Siemens Simatic PLCs and HMIs (Siemens Step 7, TIA Portal, WinCC).
- Over 5 years of experience with drives (Siemens, SEW, Lenze).
- Associate's degree in an engineering-related field.
- Professional experience in system programming within an automation environment.
- Experience programming Personal Safety equipment (e.g., Sick PLS).
- Experience with setting up and commissioning controls networks such as Profinet and Profibus.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to obtain a passport if necessary.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a continuous and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
