As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Critical Facilities Engineer I to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.

Salary : $40 / hr

Scheduled : Rotating days, rotating days and night shifts every 2 months, 12-hr shifts 7-7

Site : Onsite position in Kansas City, MO.

Critical Facilities Engineer I :

The Critical Facilities Engineer I plays a vital role within the site-level Data Center Operations team and reports directly to the Critical Facilities Engineering Manager. This position supports one or more data center properties and is responsible for ensuring the operational integrity, reliability, and compliance of all mission-critical infrastructure

The Engineer I contributes to the uninterrupted operation of HVAC, electrical systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), emergency power, and fire / life safety systems. All responsibilities are executed in strict alignment with Salute’s Critical Facilities standards and operational protocols to uphold 100% uptime and full SLA compliance.

R esponsibilities :

• Monitor and maintain all building systems and mission-critical infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, emergency generators, and fire / life safety systems, in accordance with Salute’s Critical Facilities protocols.
• Conduct routine inspections and performance assessments of building systems to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with operational benchmarks.
• Perform diagnostic testing, data analysis, and preventive maintenance to proactively identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Develop and continuously improve site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance schedules, and emergency response plans in alignment with Salute’s engineering and compliance standards.
• Create and manage change control tickets, incident reports, and maintenance logs to ensure operational transparency and traceability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical anomalies independently, escalating issues as needed per Salute’s escalation procedures.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and safety, contributing to the continuous improvement of site operations.
• Support the implementation and optimization of Building Management Systems (BMS) and other automation tools for real-time monitoring and control of critical infrastructure.
• Ensure all operational activities are executed in alignment with Salute’s Critical Facilities compliance, safety, and documentation standards.

Physical Requirements :

Site Location :  We operate a 24-hour facility where work hours (shifts) are assigned as needed to ensure job functions are performed satisfactorily, compliance is maintained, and the company operates efficiently. Certain positions, as specified in your offer letter, may require working irregular hours, such as nights, weekends, overtime, alternating shifts, and under various conditions, including outdoor work during extreme weather or in hazardous environments.
