Day to Day :
In this position, you would routinely be responsible for developing, administering and monitoring a satisfactory Compliance Management System (CMS) to ensure the Bank is in compliance with applicable banking laws and regulations including the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
Additionally, this position will develop and revise current policies and procedures to ensure compliance, assist with staff training, and keep all affected areas of the Bank informed of compliance changes.
Other day to day functions may include :
Serve as the Banks Compliance Officer and primary contact with federal compliance examiners and third party external auditors to ensure that compliance issues are adequately addressed and that necessary corrective actions are taken with the goal to achieve satisfactory ratings.
Develop and revise current policies and procedures to ensure compliance, assist with staff training, and keep all affected areas of the Bank informed of compliance changes.
- Maintain a comprehensive and working knowledge of applicable compliance laws, regulations and interpretations and research and respond to questions from Management and staff on compliance issues and interpretations.
- Serve as the Banks Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Officer, maintain CRA files and documentation, monitor data collection and the Banks CRA efforts, assist with the annual required data filing, and be responsible for the CRA exam preparation with the goal to achieve a satisfactory rating.
- Responsible for monitoring the CAGNet process and to coordinate proper and timely resolution of any customer compliance-related complaints .
- Provide input regarding compliance concerns relevant to the Banks current and proposed new products and services and complete reviews of marketing and advertising proposals.
Monitor forms, notices and other materials to comply with current and new banking laws and regulations. Coordinate with management and assist with training affected employees, and keep them informed of any regulatory changes or revisions to Bank policies and procedures.
Prepare quarterly reports and briefings for the Banks Audit Committee and Board regarding compliance issues, exam findings, and follow up actions taken.
Participate in the Banks periodic risk assessment process.
- Responsible for the Banks Compliance Oversight Committee and assist the Chair with meeting agendas and activities. Also serve on the Information Security Management Committee and provide assistance in that role with vendor management assessments and information security topics / research.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Board and Management.
Experience :
You may be wondering what we are looking for in a candidate. Qualified applicants should demonstrate five to eight years of similar or related experience with at least two years of experience specific to compliance.
Candidates should have a masters degree or a bachelors degree plus relevant professional certification or willingness to obtain.
A working knowledge of bank regulations / laws, operations, policies and procedures is required for this position. Additionally, applicants should have strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and have a strong attention to detail.
