JOB SUMMARY

The Regional Youth Service Center (RYSC) Coordinator is responsible for the oversite of programs at the Regional Youth Service Center.

Works directly with the peer mentors and family coordinators who provide services and supports related to early detection, treatment, and recovery by addressing the needs of the family, improving family engagement in treatment and supporting the youth and family unit.

Creates partnerships within communities to help serve the needs of this population.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Exemplifies and promotes the principles of Service Excellence in all actions and activities.
• Applies principles of process improvement model to improve access to care, care coordination, and continuation of care following discharge within applicable programs.
• Provides supervision and oversite to assigned staff, including clinical and administrative supervision, performance management and evaluation, and timekeeping.
• Connects youth and families with internal and external supports and services to address family needs, improve family engagement in treatment, and support the youth and family unit.
• Coordinates and works in conjunction with children’s crisis and referral line and Children’s Mobile Crisis Response Team to enable a referral system of preferential appointments to the center’s treatment services for youth, young adults, and families.
• Creates partnerships including memorandums of understanding to better serve the needs of the identified population of this grant.
• Assembles and holds advisory meetings quarterly and documents outcomes of meetings.
• Utilizes information learned from meetings to improve or develop service delivery.
• Works with Region 5 community partners to promote community awareness events that address the treatment and recovery needs of youth, young adults, and families throughout the region.
• Provides evidenced-based psychoeducation and training to address the needs of the RYSC target population and works to create partnerships to build the system to meet the needs and works toward sustaining it.
• Ensures all grant reports are submitted accurately and timely.
• Ensures staff are current on all mandatory and agency required trainings.
• Conducts chart reviews to ensure that staff are documenting according to standards of care and according to policy.
• Maintains a working knowledge of center policies and procedures, licensure regulations, CARF Standards, Medicaid, and other regulatory bodies governing Prestera's service delivery.
• Writes professional, quality reports and correspondence.
• Attends all departmental and center meetings / trainings as assigned.
• Adheres to confidentiality, HIPAA, and risk management policies and procedures including but not limited to completing Incident Reports.
• Participates in other functional work by participating in related projects, as applicable and directed by Center leadership.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting of RYSC grant activities and directly supervises peer mentors and family coordinators.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS :

• Two years’ experience working with youth and young adults.
• One year of supervisory experience preferred.
• One Experience or prior training working with families or with mental health and substance abuse population.
• Knowledgeable about community resources.
• Valid driver’s license required : frequent travel involved.
• Must have strong leadership abilities.
• Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Maintains First Aid / CPR certification.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills in conjunction with strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work with deadlines.
• Must be able to lift to 35 lbs.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work or related field; master’s degree in related field preferred.
