Position Summary : Serves as a liaison between clients and employers by providing job preparation, job development and retention services to clients undergoing social reintegration
Educational Requirements : B.A. in Social Work or related field; M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling
Special Skills : Knowledge of the principles and practices of vocational counseling; knowledge of available community resources, laws and regulations regarding the rehabilitation of clients;
strong people skills to provide excellent internal and external customer service
Position Duties :
- Analyzes information from interviews, educational and medical records, and consultation with clinicians to assess client’s ability, need, and eligibility for services
- Provides employment counseling, career exploration, and labor market exploration to determine suitable employment goals
- Develops strategies to return rehabilitated clients into the workforce by learning personalities, education and work experience, skills, and interests
- Identify appropriate return to work options and / or barriers to ensure a smooth transition back into employability
- Develops an individualized Plan for Employment to determine measure outcomes
- Access client information, maintain case records, and perform other functions within the scope of vocational counseling, including but not limited to, mock interviews, resume writing skills, job search other workforce evidence-based workforce readiness techniques.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping client information confidential; following established confidentiality policy and procedures;
maintaining professional boundaries with clients
- Maintains inter- and intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation
- Other duties as assigned
