JOB SUMMARY Mount Saint Joseph Academy is a Catholic, college preparatory school for girls located outside of Philadelphia with a mission of empowering young women to realize their fullest potential.

The Mount is seeking an innovative and collaborative educational leader for a newly established full-time position, as Director of Technology and Instructional Design.

The successful candidate will partner with leadership and bring a student-centered and mission-driven mindset to the Mount’s educational technology, philosophy and programming.

In order to empower young women to reach their fullest potential, the candidate will demonstrate a passion for this mission.

The Mount believes that educational technology and relevant teacher tools and trends are useful only when applied to best instructional practices such as personalized learning, enhanced pacing, opportunities for visible thinking and real-time feedback.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Mount educators, innovative and collaborative in their field, present a broad range of topics in a style that is both student-centered and mission-driven.

They demonstrate a passion for the Mount’s mission to empower young women to be agents of transformation in an ever-changing society.

They apply this passion in order to provide a rigorous, inspired, dynamic education to young college-bound women across grades 9-12.

Support the mission of Mount Saint Joseph Academy through its vision to empower young women to realize their fullest potential in a spirit of unity, reconciliation, gentleness and compassion Lead faculty in supporting student learning to be technologically responsible, literate digital citizens and future leaders Research, evaluate and recommend educational software, digital tools and online resources that enhance student learning across grade level and subject areas Oversee and manage best instructional design practices to leverage technology as a faculty coach Coordinate and lead faculty development in technology competencies for quality teaching and learning Collaborate with the Dean of Studies and Instruction, Academic Board and teaching and learning committee to integrate technology seamlessly into lesson plans and curricular framework Educate students on best practices and utilization of digital tools - from hardware to software, across grade levels, in designated assemblies, advisory groups, curriculum and co-curricular times Develop and enhance student-centered, creative, and mission aligned technology policies Teach one summer or school year technology elective or main course Inform and partner with school leadership on implementing best practices in the field including but not limited to five year strategic plan, future 1-1 device plans, professional development, SIS (Powerschool) optimal utilization, and acceptable use policy Manage and develop the strategic goals of the Technology committee with measurable deliverables per a 5 year plan that aligns with the school’s mission, goals and objectives Maintain our LMS system, Canvas, and support upgrades, troubleshooting and educator implementation Support data analysis to sort, categorize, and make meaning of raw data from our SIS, LMS, and belonging surveys Monitors budget to ensure maximum efficiency and accurate resource allocations Understand the basic functions and support as a substitute for our Zoom administrative management Manage standardized digital testing with the support of the academic team Participate on technological disciplinary committees as relevant Maintain confidentiality at all times in communications with students, parents and colleagues Collect and design feedback opportunities on the Digital Learning Curriculum in Action to enhance opportunities for growth for students and faculty Recognize varied ability levels within the classroom and differentiate work accordingly Collaborate with Dean of Studies and Instruction and faculty to implement technology in learning experiences that serve diverse learners Engage families in their student’s education by building relationships and maintaining timely and consistent communication with them Act as a positive role model upholding all rules and policies to the mission, goals and values of the school.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and Dean of Studies and Instruction that may include parent / guardian education to support student learning in partnership with academic divisions COMPETENCIES Minimum 5 years of experience teaching and leading in a secondary setting Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate for this position (Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Management, Educational Technology, or other equivalent disciplines (preferred) Experience leading teams (preferred) Outstanding instructional skills delivered through varied, culturally responsive, and engaging digital technology strategies Strong computer skills including Google Suite knowledge and MS Office experience Knowledge of data and technical analytics and navigation of datasets (preferred) Ability to use statistical programs such as Tableau to organize data Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, email and phone Excellent organizational skills including completion of administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner while able to work independently Excellent planning and project management skills High level of flexibility, including work being rearranged when new priorities or needs arise Ability to manage multiple functions and activities, sometimes under pressure Good relational skills at all levels including administration, colleagues, parents, and students A positive mindset and a drive for personal excellence A strong sense of professional responsibility as a cooperative, collaborative and team-centered member of the MSJA community REQUIRED EDUCATION Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in the field of study or a related field (required) Minimum 5 year Experience teaching and / or guiding teachers in secondary setting (required) PHYSICAL DEMANDS Prolonged periods standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and computer / technology-use throughout the working period Must be able to lift 15 pounds as needed Employee Classification : Exempt Position Type : Full-time (10 months / year) with 10 days working days in the summer including new student and faculty orientation and vision planning Expected Hours of Work : Monday Friday (8 : 00am-3 : 15pm), and select events on weekends / evenings, that pertain to all faculty (i.
