- Ability to work effectively as a member of a child development team, with children, parents, staff members, and community representatives in providing a quality educational program
- Ability to demonstrate a nurturing, warm, and supportive attitude when interacting with children
- Effective communication skills, both with children and adults
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a center-based environment
- Familiarity with federal and state health safety regulations applicable to a child care facility
- Thorough understanding of child development and the philosophy and methodology of early childhood education, as well as changes taking place int he field
- Knowledgeable of NAYEC Accreditation Criteria.
- Ability to plan, organize and direct a challenging developmental and instructional program for preschool-aged children
- Knowledge of developmental needs of children ages 2 to 5
- Knowledge of appropriate activities (physical, emotional, language, social, and cognitive) for this age group
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent to experience and training
- Current California Child Development Program permit at teacher level or higher
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications
- 2 years working in licensed center-based child care facilities
Special Conditions :
Absence of active TB and other immunizations as required by Community Care Licensing
