Work involves reviewing and approving online applications authorizing the release of a decedent to a funeral home. 1.Electronically receive, process, and approve funeral home applications for decedent release from the OCME within the online Decedent Release Portal according to standard operating procedure.
2.Release the certified death record to the appropriate funeral home in the electronic death registration system (VIP / MAVRIC).
3.Communicate any discrepancies with decedent demographic information or legal next of kin / claimant information provided by the funeral home to OCME medicolegal investigators for review.
4.Document all case release information in CMTS and ensure required documents and forms are electronically attached in CMTS for printing and filing in the chart.
