Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Long Island City, Queens, NY we are looking for a Tax Admin Wizard
with experience working with a tax and accounting office to help us with our firm's administrative responsibilities. Our ideal candidate has the heart of a teacher and is open to learning different parts of the business.
The position has the potential for growth.
The Tax Admin Wizard will provide support to the team and perform clerical tasks, such as answering phone calls, managing schedules, and conducting data entry. The
Tax Admin Wizard
will also assist with customer service and ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage phone calls and daily correspondence (email, mail, letters, etc.)
Schedule appointments for Senior Accountant
Maintain and file accounting records and other related documents
Manage payroll processing for clients using Gusto and ADP
Assist with Business and Individual Tax Preparation
Send client documents to be signed and ensure they are filed in the client's folder
Assist our clients and staff with the onboarding process
Appropriately communicates difficult situations encountered on engagements to supervisor.
Performs thorough self-review of all work before submission to supervisor
Proactively demonstrates a willingness to learn and attain remarkable knowledge continually; looks to build a technical skill base
Grasps concepts quickly and demonstrates knowledge of essential technical skills, as well as related knowledge of necessary systems and procedures
Makes well-thought-out decisions and considers all facts before making conclusions
Asks appropriate questions and requests supervision when in need of assistance
Responds timely and accurately to internal team and client requests
Qualifications
2+ years in relevant administrative position (Tax office experience is preferred but not required)
- Excellent Phone Etiquette and Communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
- Attention to detail and High level of accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with office equipment such as printers and copiers
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
Requirements
Strong experience with Calendly, Zoom, Zapier, CRM, Tax Dome, Tax Software
Intermediate to Advanced level in Excel
Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects under deadline.
Detail-oriented and comfortable working independently & with a team
Fluent in English and Spanish
