We are hiring multiple full-time Cooks (mixture of day and afternoon / evening shifts) to provide healthy and homemade meals within a convent home for Franciscan sisters at our Chicago convent home / eldercare facility.
Our Chicago convent is located on the north side, near Lincolnwood and North Park neighborhoods.
- Days (6 : 30 - 3 : 00 pm)
- Afternoons (10 : 30 am - 7 : 00 pm)
- Weekend rotation for all dining staff

General Summary :
The Cook's primary responsibility is to prepare food in accordance with established menus, recipes, and sanitary standards.
This position ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local food service standards as well as the organization's policies and procedures.
Our employees in all departments work together to strive to support the religious life of sisters by contributing to providing a warm and caring convent environment.

Education and Experience :
- Minimum of two (2) years of food service or restaurant experience (working in a commercial or institutional food service environment is a PLUS).
- Experience in an Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, hospital or other healthcare environment is preferred but not required.
SERV Safe certification preferred.
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
