About the Position

The Director of Enterprise Data will have end-to-end responsibility for company data, including data strategy, data product management, data science, data management and data governance, data quality, data architecture, data engineering, database management, enterprise data warehouse, and associated data technology platforms.

The position will serve as the enterprise data leader improving overall data quality, an evangelist for data governance, and a strategic visionary for the creation of new data products, services, and processes.

Essential job functions

Essential activities include but are not limited to :

• Work with the executive team to develop and drive an enterprise data and analytics strategy, including a data analytics roadmap, to support key business needs.
• Be a strategic partner to the leadership team in identifying high impact analytical problems and find innovative ways to tackle these problems via data analysis, experimentation, and statistical modeling.
• Implement best practices around data management, reporting, dashboards, and analytics.
• Analyze business performance and trends, providing daily / weekly actionable insights and root-cause analysis for rapid decision-making for each line of business.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.
• Develop high-impact, predictive insights and analytics through data modeling and advanced algorithms for the purpose of spotting trends and drawing conclusions to drive business strategy, innovation agenda, and customer engagement.
• Responsible for ideating new ways to use data
• Explore data and build advanced analytical models to find insights, diagnose problems, and identify compelling value generating opportunities.
• Drive the strategy, manage data monetization product roadmap, and develop data products and services to realize economic benefit from our data.
• Develop, implement, and monitor data governance practices and standards to ensure that enterprise data capture and integration from diverse sources is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely to inform both tactical and long-term strategic business decisions.
• Improve how the enterprise uses, manages, and publishes data including accurate measurement of data quality and building a culture of data sharing and repurposing.
• Stay current with new technologies, methods, and industry trends to maintain the company's data-driven innovation edge.
• Exhibit leadership by personally carrying out advanced data analysis, pinpointing data quality concerns, and discovering significant insights.
• Act as a thought leader and advocate for data-driven decision-making, analytics, and experimentation across the organization.
• Develop a deep understanding of our data sources and know exactly how, when, and which data to use to solve business problems.
• Partner with other IT Services teams to support data management activities, ensuring both business and technology alignment to data policies and standards.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. MBA or an advanced degree in Computer science preferred.
• 15+ years of highly relevant experience and advanced business knowledge to lead teams related to advanced insights generation.
• 8+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong experience in SQL and No SQL databases, cloud databases, and experience with big data processing frameworks and tools (e.g. Hadoop, Spark)
• Proficiency in data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), statistical / mathematical software (e.

g. R), and data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI)

Experience with cloud-based data platforms, data governance tools, data quality tools, ETL tools, and data warehousing solutions (e.

g., Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, etc.)

• Practical, hands-on experience with a wide variety of statistical inference and modeling methods and their application to solve business problems
• Extensive business strategy experience to develop and execute thought leadership in analytics to maximize return on investment and achieve strategic business efforts.
• Creative thinker and problem solver with an eye toward leveraging technology to create more efficient business processes, automate and integrate critical workflow processes leveraging data analytics and predictive intelligence.
• Experience building and sustaining credibility, influencing, and working collaboratively across senior levels of an organization.
• Successful track record of leading an enterprise data transformation; changing mindsets and capabilities across a complex organization and delivering tools and analysis for rapid and cost-effective decision making.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively build the data function with industry leading capabilities and nurture integrated and energized teams to deliver results.
• Experience in the logistics industry is highly desired.
• Experience in commercializing data products is highly desired.

Other Qualifications

The individual must be self-motivated, able to communicate effectively with all levels throughout the company. Must have a strong ability to manage a team of technical staff members who specialize in infrastructure technologies.

Must be willing to work flexible hours when required to accomplish tasks during non-business hours.
