The Dell Medical School is looking for an Executive Director, Total Rewards.

Purpose

Provides leadership and oversight for HR operational areas of compensation, HR technology, workforce solutions and analytics, benefits, and HR shared services.

Consults with all levels of leadership to ensure systems and processes are aligned with and adequately support business objectives.

Develops, implements, and oversees plans and programs to create a competitive market position in total rewards and an institutional culture that attracts, retains, and engages top talent in the industry.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership and direction to Human Resources staff to ensure appropriate and consistent solutions are provided within established service standards.

Translates institutional strategic plans and annual goals and collaborates with leadership to develop and implement supportive HR operational plans.

Forecasts, designs, and proposes competitive growth-based compensation programs for staff, faculty, and executives that are in alignment with strategic objectives and tied to individual performance.

Conducts benchmark activities and identifies potential risks across all total rewards to ensure leadership understanding of their competitiveness and makes recommendations to maximize opportunities, close gaps and mitigate risks.

Develops and leads strategies to create and maintain job structures and families for all approved positions and supports development of career ladders and pathways as needed.

Leads all efforts to effectively maintain HR data systems and new system implementations and upgrades.

Sets vision and strategy for HR analytics; leads all HR data set initiatives and establishes guidelines that promote rigorous, fact-based business intelligence and dashboards translating available disparate data sources into actionable, real-time measurement of workforce data that inform leadership decision-making and requisite UT System reporting;

drives employee data literacy in all levels of leadership.

Ensures standard operating procedures are documented, implemented, and audited providing guidance and support for revisions as needed.

Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and correct performance and ensure compliance.

Influences stakeholders with competing priorities and differences of opinions towards a common goal and solution, enabling decision-making and execution.

Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field.10 years progressive professional level Human Resources experience.

Demonstrated leadership and process improvement skills in complex environments. Strong problem-solving capabilities and strategic and critical thinking;

ability to make sound decisions independently; action and solutions oriented. Demonstrated analytical, forecasting, and project management skills to turn data into insights and action plans aligned with strategic priorities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred professional HR certification such as SPHR or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).

Preferred HR experience in a public academic medical center with specific knowledge of Texas Government Code related to compensation and benefits.

Employment Eligibility :

Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers.

Retirement Plan Eligibility :

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.

This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.

Background Checks :

A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
