Position Purpose
- Teach graduate-level courses in the fields of data science and artificial intelligence.
- Demonstrate and share relevant and current subject-matter expertise and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
- Courses include Data Science Tools, SQL, Python, Data Mining & Statistical Modeling, Visual Analytics, Machine Learning, Text Analytics & Natural Language Processing, Big Data, and Spreadsheets for Data Analysis.
- All class are conducted online, asynchronously. Terms are 15 weeks and 7 weeks in length.
Essential Duties Summary
- Actively engage students through frequent interaction in various forms and convey a genuine enthusiasm for their learning.
- Provide timely, thorough, and constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics to effectively assess learner’s work, while also acknowledging learner accomplishments.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Data Science, Health Informatics, Applied Mathematics, or a Master’s Degree plus 5 years of professional experience in a related field.
- Teaching experience at the college level or professional training experience required.
- Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and to work closely with faculty and staff in a small college environment.
