Shop Technician

Position Overview :

This is a fulltime position eligible for benefits. We offer on the job training for entry level candidates and are looking for someone who is willing to learn and can be a team player.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities :

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :

• Shop Technician Responsibilities
• Observe and comply with all company policies and safety standards
• Comfortable working on a variety of rubber components and processes to complete orders
• Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to appropriate personnel (supervisor, shop electrician, etc.), clean equipment.
• Operates heavy equipment in efforts to retrieve, delivery equipment in the appropriate areas of shop.
• Must be willing to wear a respirator for long periods of time during the work shift
• Inspects and maintains his / her own safety equipment provided
• Must comply with hazardous material and waste handling procedures
• General labor as needed including cleaning tanks in confined spaces, working long hours
• Assist other crews as needed
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• US work authorization
• Ability to work independently without much supervision
• Ability to effectively manage & hit target timeline goals
• Maintain a high level of professionalism at the work site and after hours
• Attention to detail with every task
• Able to lift and complete all tasks in accordance with the position
• Good communication with team and supervisor
• Work well with others on the team
• Keep an open mind and always interested to try new things and complete any task associate with projects
• Keep job site / work area neat, clean, and organized

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required :

Preferred but not Required :

• Experience operating a CNC cutting table
• Experience with rubber and gluing of rubber
• Operate a forklift and cranes as required for the position (some experience preferred but training will be provided)
• Experience following a quality management system
• Wage DOE

Physical / Mental Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use both hands to handle tools or controls;

reach with hands and arms; talk and hear

• Can by physically demanding, lifting weights up to 50lbs, repetitive motion, working outside
• Outside work includes moving equipment; however, work will be suspended in the case of unsafe weather events.
• Regular periods of kneeling, climbing and using stairs
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to non-toxic chemicals
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high
