Job DescriptionThe Mobile Health Services Assistant provides all medical assistance to patients and administrative support to medical providers in the operations of the System’s mobile health program and medical vehicle.
This employee MUST be Bilingual in Spanish!QualificationsPrincipal Duties : 1. Places patients and any patient paperwork into clean, prepared exam room when scheduled for a provider visit.
2. Inputs all patient info and vitals into EMR3. Places patients into clean, prepared, lab draw areas when scheduled for lab-only visit4.
Performs all routine labs for lab-only visits under supervision of medical provider5. Performs all routine labs for patients as requested by medical provider at time of patient visit6.
Maintain OSHA required logs and In House logs7. Performs routine orthostatic blood pressures, temperatures, height, and weight for all patients prior to provider visit or as requested by medical provider8.
Scans all paperwork pertaining to Mammograms, Referrals, Pap Smears into EMR9. Maintains clinic supply inventory and sends to main office to make purchase of medical and office supplies10.
Performs any and all such duties that are within the scope of this individual’s certifications that are requested by the medical providers.
11. Tracks and maintains all logs for referrals, mammograms, pap smears 12. Notifies patients of test results after they have been signed off by provider13.
Makes sure patient and provider have signed all appropriate paperwork when applicable14. Maintains lab book and verifies completion each day15.
Maintains a clean, safe and unobstructed workplace.16. Assists patients with checking in for appointments, scheduling future appointments and referrals to additional services.
Collects patient financial information, co-payment and additional information, as necessary.17. Covers for front office staff as required and directed by the office manager or designated staff.
18. Monitors cleanliness of the mobile medical vehicle, and ensures necessary dumping of septic tank and the refueling the vehicle.
19. Restocks mobile medical vehicle with supplies and program information.20. With training, operates the mobile medical vehicle as needed.
21. Ensures UMCAP vehicle logs and any DMV records are maintained as required.22. Assists disabled passengers and children into and out of vehicle.
23. In collaboration with the Mobile Vehicle Driver, reports to supervisor any vehicle safety, maintenance and hazard issues.
Cooperates with any 3rd party official or employee assigned to vehicle inspections.24. Provides patient care within legal and ethical boundaries;
25. Complies with established risk management and safety regulations.26. Performs related work as assigned.Additional InformationRequired : This employee MUST be Bilingual in Spanish!
- Medical Assistant Certification from college or technical school
- Valid VA / Maryland Driver’s License (less than 2 points)
- Ability to receive instruction and multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Good written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to safely drive and operate mobile medical units.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including availabilityfor weekend and / or after-hours mobile events.
- Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of information as appropriate.
- A pleasant personality to people you are speaking to on the telephone, visitors, and company personnel. Preferred : Bi-lingual in Spanish / English with comprehension of medical terms in both languages.
