We are a boutique-sized diversified downstream energy company with a range of assets, including petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels, and convenience store retailing.
- Our refineries in Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana have a combined crude capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.
- Our logistics business currently owns and operates 720 miles of crude and product pipelines, a 600-mile crude oil gathering system, and storage tanks and terminals.
- Our Retail or convenience store part of Delek runs over 250 stores in Texas and New Mexico. We also have company-branded New-to-Industry DK stores in the southern part of the US!

Job Summary
Provides leadership and strategic direction for the enterprise’s emergency preparedness and crisis management efforts. This role is a key member of the Corporate Environment, Health and Safety team, and offers subject matter expertise, guidance, and support across all levels of the organization, to ensure preparedness for any emergency.
Designs and drives implementation of emergency preparedness and crisis response management systems, provides subject matter expertise and advice on emergency preparedness and spill regulatory compliance issues.
Supports and advises on fire and toxic suppression system designs. Ensures execution of assurance activities to drive continuous improvement.
Measure key performance indicators and reports to senior leadership on performance of emergency preparedness systems.

Education And Experience
- 4 year / Bachelor’s Degree (Required); Degree in Fire Protection, Occupational Safety, Engineering or related field (Preferred).
- One (1) or more years of Firefighting experience (Required).
- Five (5) or more years’ experience working in petrochemical, refining, or chemicals operations (Required).
- Four (4) or more years management experience (Required).
- Fifteen (15) or more years’ experience in a related field (Required).

- Provides oversight for Corporate Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Ensures alignment between Corporate EOC and local EOC execution.
- Ensures effective assurance processes for conformance to applicable emergency preparedness & fire protection codes, standards, and practices.
Collaborates with Learning & Development team to ensure fit-for-purpose and effective emergency response training.
Functions as the corporate Emergency Preparedness & Fire Protection SME providing technical expertise for all company assets (refining, DKL);
leads best practice network of site emergency response personnel.
- Develops corporate standards on emergency preparedness.
- Builds and mentors organizational capabilities and interfaces regularly with executive-level management, providing assessments of ER plans, programs and processes and continuous improvement recommendations.
- Assesses, measures, and tracks the performance and results of emergency preparedness efforts.
- Ensures audits are conducted and sites are in compliance with regulatory requirements and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards for industrial sites.
- Reviews site emergency preparedness drills and exercises; provides recommendations for corrective action plan and / or additional training.
- Advises sites to support execution of emergency preparedness improvement action Items.
- Provides technical support and guidance to senior leadership on industrial emergency services.
- Advises sites on Emergency Response Plans, Fire Pre-plans, Drills, and training.
- Provides leadership for the company’s response to natural disaster events (e.g. Hurricanes).
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, hearing protection, respirator).
