The QA Manager is a senior position within BGI's Government Business Sector, and as such has some important duties and responsibilities to fulfill, with both short and long-term goals to achieve.

The Quality Manager reports directly to BGI's Executive Director for Government Program and is responsible for ensuring BGI's quality program is compliant with industry-established quality standards (NQA-1 & ISO 9001) where projects meet BGI client expectations for quality and documentation and achieve the company's quality objectives.

The role requires leadership in the development, training, and implementation of standardized processes across the company to support project and field staff.

Must demonstrate and be a champion of continuous process improvement throughout BGI.

  • Develops, implements, and manages Corporate Quality Programs compliant with NQA-1 & ISO 9001.
  • Develops, implements, and manages Quality programs as required for specific clients (DOE, DoD, Commercial, etc.).
  • Develops or oversees the development and annual maintenance / updating of Quality documents such as manuals, plans, and procedures
  • Develop and implement a document control system for compliance with the Corporate Quality Program.
  • Establishes excellent working and professional relationships with clients and their representatives and / or project management and quality management staff.
  • Initiates, collects, and analyses client satisfaction feedback related to quality. Provides this information to the project and management teams to review and drive corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Gathers data and creates user-friendly reports for management action on Quality KPIs, including rework costs, unsatisfied clients, non-conformance reports, etc.

Uses this data to drive corrective action and continuous improvement.

  • Identifies and recommends training for BGI staff to develop new skill sets to enhance Quality. Encourages continuous learning, cross-training, and education.
  • Ensures all laboratory and material sampling and testing is performed according to the proper procedures and proper data collection methods.
  • Oversees and performs audits of the Corporate Quality Program. Reports results to senior management and leads corrective action measures.
  • Coordinates the timely distribution of the lessons learned from the corrective action process to the various Regions and project teams.
  • Ensures all project submittals and deliverables are reviewed for technical accuracy and editorial correctness to ensure quality standards are achieved.

Corporate Support

  • Support the development and execution of the Corporate Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Provide support and input to BGI's Health and Safety Program.
  • As-needed support to BGI Senior Leadership Team on corporate initiatives.
  • Continually challenge BGI project teams and leadership to improve processes and procedures to reduce waste, improve quality, and new methods to make BGI more competitive and profitable

Technical Support

  • Provide Quality Management expertise for the TA-21 Bldg. 257 and IWL Project
  • Provide subject matter expertise as required to support projects.
  • Conducts field inspections and corrective actions at project sites in support of the BGI Quality program.
  • Provide oversight of DOE / DoD projects as required.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
  • 5 - 10 Yrs. of relevant experience
  • NQA-1 Auditor
  • Receipt Inspector Qualified
