You will be responsible for full cycle accounting, tracking financial transactions, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data related to projects.

The Senior Project Accountant role is hands-on, ideal for an accounting professional who can balance the management of daily transactional activities with achieving longer-term objectives and managing multiple deadlines.

Our Ideal Candidate

This is an onsite role based in Centennial, CO.

The Senior Project Accountant position requires meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.

This role will collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to support the financial aspects of project planning, execution, and reporting.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Financial Tracking and Reporting :
  • Monitor and record project-related financial transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project cost records.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to project performance.
  • Month-End Close Activities :
  • Preparation of month-end close workpapers for all projects.
  • Preparation of month-end close workpapers for all general ledger accounts.
  • Manage fixed assets, including additions, dispositions, and depreciation.
  • Monthly account reconciliations.
  • Inventory Accounting :
  • Maintain and oversee accurate inventory records and proper valuation.
  • Track and record inventory transactions, including purchases, sales, and adjustments.
  • Reconcile general ledger to inventory sub-ledgers.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting :
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing project budgets and forecasts on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Track budget variances and provide detailed explanations on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Support project managers in financial planning and analysis by providing project financial reporting & analysis.
  • Compliance and Controls :
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls.
  • Assist in internal and external audits related to project finances.

What You Bring

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with 4-6 years accounting experience, including minimum 2 year in project accounting role.
  • AIPB Certified Bookkeeper with 4-6 years' experience in full charge bookkeeping role, including minimum 2 years in project accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including :
  • Percentage of completion revenue recognition concepts,
  • Full accrual bookkeeping
  • Purchase Orders, Sales Orders / Estimates, Progress invoicing
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Teams experience preferred, not required.

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online project accounting preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems a plus.

What We Offer

Triplepoint offers a competitive compensation package, with a salary of $70,000 USD - $95,000 USD (depending on experience), full benefits including 401k, outstanding profit-sharing potential, and a generous vacation and holiday package.
