Position Overview
This manager-level position is responsible for helping the organization attract, develop, and retain top talent while fostering a positive and inclusive working environment.
The Human Resources Manager will oversee all business functions of HR, including recruiting, hiring, benefits, training, compliance, and professional development.
The company currently uses ADP for payroll.
The position is in Denver, Colorado. The company has a policy for in-office work Monday through Thursday, with remote work on Fridays.
Compensation Range annual base salary $110-125k based on experience and skills.
Responsibilities
- Post jobs, screen applicants, schedule interviews, communicate with candidates, create offer letters, perform background screenings, order business cards, and assist managers with the successful onboarding of new employees and off-boarding of existing employees
- Manage benefits program (including open enrollment, COBRA, qualifying events, etc.), update benefit documents, and hold at least annual training on benefit offerings for all employees
- Be the primary point of contact with ADP to process payroll (including holiday pay), pull reports for various stakeholders, manage benefit services, etc.
- Answer general employee questions related to HR policies, benefits, leave, etc., and provide employment verification, accommodations, FAMLI paperwork, and other support to staff
- Maintain and update company policies and the employee handbook annually
- Maintain working knowledge of compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; complete all HR-related compliance requirements
- Coordinate with internal and external legal counsel to secure / renew visas for employees
- Design training and professional development programs, which may include lunch and learns, budgets for conferences, and internal and external training opportunities
- Create and oversee the performance management process, ensuring performance reviews, goal-setting, and development plans are conducted and followed up on effectively
- Develop, document, and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs in alignment with the organization’s overall business objectives (ie : onboarding and offboarding processes)
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Partner with business leaders and employees on building engagement, and increasing productivity and retention
- Complete unemployment claims and attend hearings
- Manage employee relations issues and conflict resolution
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field of study or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of applicable human resources experience
- Previous experience with creating corporate training programs is preferred
- Familiarity with the electric utility industry a plus
