The Principal Technical Program ManagerRole

We are seeking a strategic and highly skilled Principal Technical Program Manager to bridge the gap between high-level product vision and technical execution within our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.

Based in North America, you will collaborate with SRE Director-level leaders across North America, EMEA, and APAC to transform strategic objectives into actionable technical programs.

You will manage the intake of technical requirements, oversee project execution, and optimize resource allocation across regions to ensure timely and effective delivery of key initiatives.

While primary focus will be SRE, you will support the roadmaps for the other groups in the SaaS Operations organization which include Operational Excellence, Performance & Stability, and Developer Experience.

Key Responsibilities :

As the Principal Technical

  • Program Strategy & Execution : Partner with product managers to translate product visions into actionable technical features and requirements, ensuring alignment with SRE, Operational Excellence, Performance & Stability, and Developer Experience with project managers and architects to manage technical execution, ensuring alignment with program timelines, budgets, and cross-group the end-to-end execution of technical programs across SRE and SaaS Operations groups, managing dependencies, mitigating risks, and ensuring that deliverables are met.
  • Cross-Regional Collaboration : Coordinate efforts across North America, EMEA, and APAC SRE groups, ensuring alignment with global objectives and efficient resource collaboration and best practices across regional SRE groups, ensuring effective communication and issue closely with the Operational Excellence, Performance & Stability, and Developer Experience groups to align with broader product and performance goals.
  • Resource Optimization & Tracking : Optimize resource allocation, balancing the needs of local teams with global priorities across SRE as well as maintaining the the trackers for program progress across multiple groups, identifying risks, and distilling regular updates to leadership, ensuring transparency and effective decision- resources are utilized effectively across global groups to meet both SRE-specific and cross-functional goals.
  • Communication & Documentation : Communicate clearly and effectively with technical teams, product managers, and senior leadership, bridging the gap between technical execution and business and maintain comprehensive documentation structures for the teams to use, including technical requirements, risk assessments, project updates, and retrospectives for programs spanning SRE and other technical groups.
  • Critical Thinking & Problem Solving : Apply analytical thinking to program goals, prioritization, and execution; build the paths to drive programs across multiple technical cross-functional problem-solving efforts, ensuring outcomes align with business objectives while addressing the needs of SRE and the other SaaS Operations groups.
  • Relationship-Building & Influence : Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders at various levels across SRE and the SaaS Operations outcomes by driving collaboration and alignment across groups, while balancing regional needs with global a network of champions for programs, ensuring alignment and buy-in across the organization.
  • Technical Knowledge & Process Improvement : Understand and connect organizational systems, architecture, and applications, ensuring technical programs drive cross-functional process gaps and lead the development of scalable, efficient processes that span across SRE and SaaS Operations groups, ensuring consistent and reliable drive improvements that support long-term success in SRE and related technical areas.

To be considered for this role you will need to have the following skills and qualifications :

  • Experience : 10+ years in technical program management with a focus on infrastructure, SRE, or software experience working with Director-level leadership and managing complex, cross-functional programs across multiple groups.
  • Skills : Strong technical background with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into executable program management skills, including resource optimization, risk management, and building progress tracking capabilities across global communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with experience working across multiple technical areas.
  • Technical Knowledge : Deep understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles, cloud infrastructure, and automation, as well as operational challenges in other groups supporting SaaS with agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms, with a proven ability to manage cross-functional groups and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in a Principal or Senior Technical Program Management role within a global organization.
  • Knowledge of SRE frameworks, incident management, operational tooling, and performance optimization.
  • Experience working with operational focused groups in engineering organizations to align technical roadmaps and initiatives.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $90,000USD to $205,000USD per year. There is no corporate bonus plan for this role.

Final compensation offered by Qlik will be based on factors such as the candidate’s location, job-related skills, education, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
