Overview
SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Vice President (VP) of Business Development to lead the company’s growth team supporting its Intelligence Business Unit (BU).
This position enables the company’s growth objectives by identifying, qualifying, capturing, and winning new business in the defense and intelligence community markets.
This position supervises a team of capture staff and reports to the company’s Chief Growth Officer
Essential Job Duties
Working closely with the company’s CGO, its VP of the Intelligence BU, and its program managers (PM) :
- Lead a team of BD and capture professionals in executing the company’s BD process supporting its Intelligence BU.
- Select appropriate opportunities to pursue and sustain sufficient pipeline velocity to achieve BU goals for submissions, bookings, and qualified pipeline size.
- Support proposal activities for opportunities aligned to the Intelligence BU.
- Recommend pricing and price-to-win strategies for opportunities aligned to the Intelligence BU.
- Leverage the company’s portfolio of GWAC / MATOCs to achieve growth objectives.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships related to active opportunities.
- Supervise, professionally develop, and mentor assigned capture staff, while personally leading capture efforts for select new business pursuits.
- Lead development and revision of account plans on an annual basis.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the company’s service offerings and be able to represent their benefits to customers.
- Work closely with SOSi’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Exovera, to maximize cross-selling opportunities related to open source intelligence (OSINT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML), and data science.
- Work closely with the company’s CTO to identify, develop and deploy capabilities that provide the company differentiation from its competitors on strategic pursuits.
- Participate in corporate trade shows and industry events.
- Develop network of key partners to optimize win probabilities.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s Degree + 10 years’ of professional business development experience, or Bachelor’s Degree + 15 years of experience, or high school degree with 20 or more years of professional business development experience.
- Possess and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI access.
- Demonstrated track record of winning technically complex intelligence and / or language contracts valued at $100 million or more.
- Must possess detailed knowledge of the defense and IC markets.
- Must possess the ability to work across organizational boundaries and jurisdictions, leading customer meetings and cross-functional teams in development of customer solutions.
- Exceptional demonstrated verbal communication, presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Possess and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Shipley training is desired.
- PMP certification is desired.
Work Environment
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Around-the-clock availability and non-traditional working hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed
- Occasional physical exertion, including lifting and / or moving objects or packages weighing up to 25 lbs.
