Quality Assurance Manager
The Quality Assurance Manager will lead Food Safety and Quality programs, ensuring that products are safe, compliant, and consistently high quality. This role will drive SQF certification, regulatory compliance with FDA and DATCP, and adherence to various customer and certification standards, including USDA Organic, OU Kosher, Gluten-Free, Non-GMO, and Rainforest Alliance. The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee the CAPA process and foster continuous improvement. Additionally, this position involves mentoring and developing a team of Quality professionals and overseeing the Sanitation team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Food Safety and Quality programs to ensure high-quality, compliant products.
- Drive SQF certification and maintain regulatory compliance with FDA and DATCP standards.
- Ensure adherence to customer and certification standards like USDA Organic, OU Kosher, Gluten-Free, Non-GMO, and Rainforest Alliance.
- Oversee the CAPA process and promote continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop the Quality team, including 5 Quality Technicians, a Quality and Compliance Specialist, and a Quality Supervisor.
- Manage and oversee a team of 21 in Sanitation.
- Work collaboratively with multiple departments to enhance quality culture and operations.
- Lead efforts to change the plant's quality culture and implement new operational practices.
Essential Skills
8+ years of experience in the food industry.5+ years of leadership experience managing at least 3 individuals.SQF practitioner license or ability to quickly recertify.HACCP certification or ability to get certified immediately.PCQI certification or ability to get certified immediately.Strong management skills and ability to manage confrontations while maintaining a positive attitude.Experience in food manufacturing and quality assurance.Strong working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, PCQI, and food safety standards.Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related life science.Experience with metal detection or X-ray troubleshooting is a plus.Experience in setting up new production lines is advantageous.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00 / yr.
