Women Against Abuse (WAA), is looking for an experienced individual to join the team as our Housekeeper & Maintenance Assistant !

Responsibilities :
Perform janitorial & housekeeping responsibilities and assists with general maintenance work at our Transitional Housing Program (15 apartment units), and other facilities as needed.
Will also perform heavy janitorial duties and upkeep of facility and grounds (e.g. buffing floors, deep cleaning of bathrooms, large cleaning assignments, light painting, installing blinds, installing new light switch plates, installing florescent light bulbs, basic plumbing replacing a toilet flapper or handle, small dry wall patches etc.
At times, may assist with picking up and delivering in-kind donations. All responsibilities are expected to be delivered satisfactorily, with a customer service focus and are implemented according to our mission and vision and according to Agency standards.
Qualifications :
- A High School Diploma or the equivalent is required.
- Previous experience janitorial or housekeeping (including floor care-buffing & waxing; deep cleaning; plumbing; patch work;
electrical) Required; residential cleaning experience is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience with light maintenance for example : light painting, small dry wall patch / spackling, installing blinds, installing new light plates, replacing toilet flapper or handle, etc.. is required.
- Knowledge of cleaning standards required.
- Valid Driver's License Required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member is required.
- The ability to read, understand and communicate in English is required.
- Demonstrated commitment to service of others is required.
- Frequent lifting is required, typically not more than 25 lbs.
- The ability to bend, stoop, stand on a regular basis and general physical exertion is required.
- Must satisfactorily pass criminal clearances (state & FBI) and child abuse clearances pre-hire; and regular renewals (all expenses paid by employer).
- Will be required to attend JARS Domestic Violence Advocate Training, post hire (with pay).

Openings :
Full-Time : Monday-Friday 7 : 00am - 3 : 00pm
Part-Time : Monday-Friday 8 : 00am - 2 : 00pm w / on call responsibilities (30 hours / week)
Part-Time : Wednesday-Sunday 12 : 00pm - 7 : 00pm (35 hours / week)
Pay Rate : $18.65 an hour + generous benefits package along with annual increases and Years of Service Recognition
