Cloud Data Platform Administrator

This role creates infrastructure as code pipelines and automation within a leading cloud platform and predefined database architecture.
You'll work closely with application developers to identify needs and set up efficient pipelines. Additionally, you'll assist data engineers in automating tasks related to development, analysis, performance tuning, and data modeling.
Responsibilities :
- Design and implement infrastructure as code pipelines and automation for data platform environments.
- Collaborate with application developers and data engineers to identify needs and set up data pipelines.
- Assist data engineers in automating tasks for data development, analysis, performance tuning, and modeling.
- Implement solutions to optimize system stability, resilience, and security.
- Troubleshoot issues, analyze for future enhancements, and proactively maintain efficient systems.
- Forecast and analyze future capacity needs and develop tools to mitigate potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with all security standards.
Qualifications :
- 4-year college degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related field OR 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Self-starter with a strong desire to solve complex problems.
- 2+ years' hands-on experience with DevOps and cloud technologies.
- 2+ years' experience deploying services and infrastructure in a public cloud environment (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
- 2+ years' experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
- 2+ years' experience with configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Strong knowledge of data platforms.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Experience with database backup and recovery.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours, including on-call (details to be discussed).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with data processing tools like Databricks or Synapse.
- Experience with version control tools like Liquibase.
- Experience with cloud CLI tools (e.g., Azure CLI).
- Experience configuring cloud monitoring tools.
- Experience working in an agile / scrum development environment.
- Experience administering Oracle or SQL Server databases.
- Cloud certifications a plus.
- Experience provisioning HIPAA compliant cloud services.
- Experience setting up CI / CD pipelines in YAML.
- Experience with Bicep or similar tools.
- Experience with cloud database services (e.g., Atlas MongoDB Cloud, Redis).
- Experience with container orchestration platforms (e.g., OpenShift).
Location :
Remote work possible, but local / regional candidates preferred for occasional on-site needs.
Hours :
Monday-Friday with on-call support (details to be discussed).
