GENERAL SUMMARY
The Welcome Centers Coordinator assists ARO to support student onboarding in the areas of Enrollment Administration & Student Success.
They will work closely with the Director of ARO to determine the appropriate type of communications required based for both current and prospective students.
This area collaborates and coordinates with various college departments to ensure success for all students.
This position oversees the Welcome Center in the Confluence and Cherry Creek Buildings. The Welcome Center Coordinator is expected to respond to inquiries and concerns related to registration / records, admissions, financial aid, documentation, holds, residency requirements, tuition & fees, EAB Navigate, general campus and faculty / staff contact information, and other issues.
Duties often require substantial research / follow-up on Banner to validate information. The position works with the ARO Navigators on successfully guiding current and prospective students in their onboarding from applying at Community College of Denver, to registering for their first semester classes.
Additionally, this position selects, trains, and supervises the Student Ambassadors, who are the face of Community College of Denver.
The Welcome Center Coordinator is also responsible for college tours, setting up info tables for the first week of classes, and occasional off campus tabling for recruitment and community engagement purposes.
This role must be compliant with FERPA regulations and will abide by student information security compliance directives.
Duties and Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES
This role includes, but is not limited to : building awareness about CCD’s academic programs, sharing information about CCD’s application process, and establishing a connection between the prospective students and college resources, answering all incoming inquiries, support inbound and outbound call campaigns efforts, and coordinate group and individual campus tours.
Manage daily operations and problem-solve. Select, train, provide meaningful work experience and supervise Welcome Center Ambassadors.
Oversee the development of solutions, including videos, panels, themes and graphics, and coordinate communication with in support of their supervisor.
Track statistics, gather data, and write reports.
Coordinate daily operations of the Community College of Denver Confluence and Cherry Creek Building Welcome Center during normal and extended hours.
This role directly supervises and trains Welcome Center Ambassadors. Oversee scheduling and attendance of the student staff at the two Welcome Centers and other opportunities
Coordinate and organize Peak Weeks / Extended Hours stations, materials, and communications for EASS. Collaborate with appropriate departments on online and printed material development, webpages.
Maintain positive collaborations and partnerships throughout the college to ensure student retention and success, by serving on committees, and taskforces.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education (Minimum / Required) :
Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience (Minimum / Required) :
One (1) year of customer service experience in higher education, retail, or hospitality setting.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (Minimum / Required) :
- High level of organization and ability to maintain several different tasks simultaneously.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office products.
- Evidence of commitment to supporting and empowering minoritized groups.
- Willingness to learn new systems, software, and grow professionally.
Education (Preferred) :
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience (Preferred) :
- Demonstrated excellence with multi-tasking.
- Experience with Ellucian Banner, CRM Recruit, EAB Navigate360, and other student information systems.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
Equipment Used : Cell Phone, Desktop, laptop, general office equipment, real-time chat software, wireless headset, text message deployment software and multi-line telephone system.
Other Considerations : Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
