Overview
As an Electrical Engineer I, you will utilize your technical expertise to design electrical engineering concepts that align with the client's vision for each project.
This role requires a solid understanding of the consulting engineering process and contractual documents involved.
Responsibilities
- Create electrical system designs, including lighting, power distribution, emergency generation systems, fire alarm, security, and other electrical systems, using software programs
- Develop cost-effective system layouts, quantities / sizes, and specifications while ensuring code compliance
- Prepare and coordinate BIM drawings with other disciplines throughout all project phases
- Perform construction administration tasks, such as site observations and review of shop drawings
- Ensure accurate project scope and proactively manage any scope variances
- Maintain strong communication and relationships with clients, partners, architects, and other professionals involved in the project
- Provide mentorship to less experienced electrical designers
- Handle miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and based in Tampa, Florida
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering design of commercial buildings, preferably in aviation, higher education, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, or governmental facilities
- Preferred : Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT)
- At least 1 year of experience collaborating with multi-discipline engineering teams
- Familiarity with various project deliverable methods, including design-build, design-bid-construct, and fast-track
- Knowledge of local, state, and national codes and regulations affecting engineering practice
- Proficiency in Revit MEP and familiarity with other engineering software programs
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, internet and web applications
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to prepare original specifications and project manuals
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in evaluating electrical engineering options
- Experienced in cost containment and reduction approaches
