Job Summary
As the Technical Writer for the National Accounts Department at DuraServ, you will support the Director of Operations by creating detailed documentation to enhance operational efficiency and clarity.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guides, training documents, and other critical resources for the team.
These documents will ensure consistency and accuracy across all processes, supporting both the team’s internal operations and external engagements.
This role is essential to maintaining high-quality documentation that aligns with organizational standards and goals.
Essential Functions

- Document Development : Create and maintain SOPs, guides, and training materials for the National Accounts department, ensuring documents are clear, concise, and accessible.
- Process Documentation : Collaborate with subject matter experts and department heads to accurately document current processes and workflows.
- Content Updates : Regularly review and update existing documents to reflect process improvements, policy changes, and new operational requirements.
- Knowledge Base Creation : Help establish and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base for internal use by organizing and cataloging essential documents and materials.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration : Work with various teams within the organization, such as parts, client services, and billing, to gather the necessary information for creating detailed process documentation.
- Training Support : Collaborate with the Learning and Development Team to develop training guides and manuals that can be used for onboarding new team members and for ongoing education within the department.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure all written materials meet DuraServ’s standards of quality, consistency, and accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
S) Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex processes into easy-to-understand documentation.
S) Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A) Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and produce high- quality documentation.
A) Strong attention to detail, ensuring documents are both precise and comprehensive.
K) Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and other documentation tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
K) Knowledge of documentation best practices, particularly in creating SOPs, training guides, and other technical materials.

Travel
This job requires no planned business travel.
Education and Experience
- High School graduation or equivalent is required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in technical writing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably with experience creating SOPs, guides, or process documentation.
- Experience working within an operational, logistics, or national accounts environment is a plus.
