Event Set-Up is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the event related equipment set-up and breakdown for events hosted by the University of South Carolina Upstate.
Event Set-up is responsible for upholding the highest standards of expectations of a professional facility for our guests and clients, and other who utilize the facilities of USC Upstate as a venue for their activities.
This person will work closely with the Director of Events and staff prior to, during, and after events to ensure that each event is executed seamlessly.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma. Good driving record, valid drivers license and successful background check are required.
Preferred Qualifications Proven experience in event setup and breakdown, or in a similar role, physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing event needs; flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends;
and strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Must be able to communicate with other staff, vendors, and clients In a professional manner, Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

basic computer skills; ability to work under flexible fast-paced conditions. Job Duties Job Duty Responsible for managing the setup and break down of all event spaces, and ensuring all spaces are setup in a timely manner.
Facilitate the transportation and installation of event inventory including but not limited to tables, chairs, draping, stages, podiums, sound systems and décor.
Attend weekly meeting with OSE for planning and scheduling of resources. Ensure space is arranged to the specifications of client and event requirements.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 50 Job Duty Perform event-related asset tasks : pull, restock, inspect, and clean assets : protect for transport and storage;
pick-up / deliver vendor products. Tag assets based on condition, assist in repair, reposition assets based on usage, monitor inventory levels.
Ensure that equipment is clean and orderly, tools are maintained and equipment is properly stored after use. Report loss, theft, or damage of event inventory.
Properly pack, unpack and check goods against orders and handle inventory to protect against damage and communicating necessary information to Special Events team.
Perform required minor maintenance and repair activities of department assets as needed. Maintain departmental vehicles including documentation of service, gas, mileage, etc.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 25 Job Duty Oversee the scheduling, coordination, and supervision of set-up crew, including , seasonal, and student employees to ensure physical lay-out of equipment and furnishings for special events meets the requirements of event sponsor.
Supervises, performs, and coordinates the event breakdown to ensure all items are stored appropriately. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Responsible for loading and unloading trucks, as well as delivery, setup and safe installation of various rental and University owned products for both related and unrelated University business occurring at on and off campus venues.
