• Start Date : ASAP, we have a new employee orientation class starting soon
• Hourly Wage Estimate : $17.00 / hr
• Shift : 8 hr. shifts
• Schedule : Fluctuating schedule with alternating weekends

A little more about our center :

Southview Manor (formerly Southview Care) is a large inner-city skilled nursing (medical) facility. We have and multiple levels of care, including long term care and a large behavioral health population.

Many of them were previously homeless.

• We have a 5 Star Quality measure this means we provide excellent clinical care!
• The average age of our patients is 35-55 and the most common diagnoses are bi-polar and major depressive disorders.
• The Staff and patients are welcoming and say hello as you walk through the hallways.
• The Metra and the Green Line are just a few blocks away

Job Description

What you will do in this role : When you are a patient, talking to the person who cleans your room can be the highlight of your day.

As a Housekeeper you will help keep things neat and tidy. This could involve removing trash, washing windows, keeping the floors spotless or general bathroom cleaning.

One day you may vacuum & sanitize rooms and the next you may be prepping a room for a new resident. Every day is different.

We do whatever is needed to support the sanitation needs of the center.

Qualifications

Housekeeping Aide : Officially we title this job a Housekeeping Aide, but in other centers it may be called a Housekeeper, Janitor, Custodian, Environmental Services Assistant or Laundry Aide

What we need from you :

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be physically capable of walking and prolonged standing, bending, pushing and pulling weights exceeding 150 lbs.
• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment physical and criminal history background check
