Position Summary

The Associate Sourcing Manager (Contract) role at Hanna Andersson company is a key temporary position responsible for overseeing end-to-end product development and production across different divisions and categories.

They serve as the main point of contact for cross-functional teams and external suppliers, ensuring seamless development and delivery processes.

This role requires knowledge of international product development, factory production processes, garment construction, costing and allocation strategies, as well as strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Essential Duties

  • Track deliverables and complete product development functions to ensure timely execution of product development calendar from development through production for assigned categories.
  • Manage costing and allocation strategy in partnership with sourcing directors and managers to meet goals for department and assigned categories.
  • Manage deadlines and deliverables within seasonal Go-To-Market calendar and style specific time and action calendars.
  • Manage Sourcing functions for assigned categories in weekly cross functional team meetings and key Go-To-Market meetings (including but not limited to costing preparation, analysis and reporting, time and action management and communication, allocation recommendations).
  • Build collaborative relationships, coordinate interoffice communication, and follow-up with internal and external teams including overseas partners.
  • Responsible for daily communication with internal and external partners to collect and organize information, problem-solve, and follow up on deliverables.
  • Partner with design, merchant, and creative teams to develop assortment.
  • Manage print development and execution, costing, and delivery for assigned categories.
  • Track product development status, samples, and submissions, and manage deadlines for multiple seasons at the same time.
  • Request marketing samples and artwork submissions from vendors, track to internal deadlines, and organize upon receipt.
  • Responsible for creating, issuing, and tracking raw material liabilities, commitments, and POs for on-time delivery.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities assigned as necessary

Required General Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of international product development and factory production processes.
  • Solid understanding of garment costing, garment production, and allocation strategies.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Superior time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to articulate feedback and direction to internal and external partners clearly and concisely both in person / on video calls and via email / chat messages.
  • Ability to collaborate and problem-solve with team members across functional areas.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Shows flexibility and quickly adapts to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly detail-oriented and solutions-focused. Proven ability to successfully implement and complete projects with attention to accuracy and commitment to deadlines.
  • Ability to act as liaison with cross-functional teams, collaborate effectively, and lead team members to ensure company-wide goals and deadlines are met.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel and keen to learn new software and tools when necessary. Previous work in an apparel PLM system is a plus.
  • Opportunity for occasional domestic and international travel
  • 2+ years in apparel product development and production required.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of international product development and factory production processes.
  • Solid understanding of costing and allocation strategies.
  • Knowledge of garment construction and garment production.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills as well as interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully implement and complete projects with attention to accuracy and commitment to deadlines.
  • Ability to act as liaison with cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively.
  • Occasional international travel required.
  • 2+ years in apparel product development and production required
