Social Science Research & Evaluation Coordinator
The Research & Evaluation Coordinator provides vital administrative support to the Labor and Economic Equity Impact Center research team to ensure contract requirements are met and maintained.
The Research & Evaluation Coordinator also supports survey administration, as needed.
JBS currently supports a hybrid work schedule. This position requires 3 days in the San Mateo office per week.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Administrative Support
- Monitor tasks and deliverables for contract compliance as directed by Project Directors.
- Assist Project Directors with project performance tracking and dashboard systems.
- Assists Project Directors in the management of budgets, and staffing needs.
- Assist Project Directors in developing scope of work for subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and temporary staff.
- Assist Project Directors in reviewing and tracking invoices for subcontractors, consultants, and vendors.
- Act as a reliable point of contact for Project Directors to ensure requests are addressed in a timely fashion.
- Participate in discussions and contribute ideas to develop internal knowledge base and operations for contract compliance.
- Collaborate effectively with research teams and other internal and external stakeholders.
Survey coordination / Data collection
- Coordinate survey administration. This includes aggregating and managing respondent contact lists, ensuring high quality accurate lists and changes to lists during surveying, updating, and maintaining sample lists, and tracking sample attrition over time.
- Employ a customer-focused orientation, as the first line of contact for survey support, and guiding users through the surveying process.
- Update and develop internal documentation regarding the survey administration process processes.
- Execute survey administration processes.
- Coordinate survey programming and testing processes.
- Ensure successful and error-free launch of surveys, monitoring survey progress and troubleshooting as needed.
- Coordinate qualitative interview administration processes.
- Ensure that confidential data and personal information are secure.
- Oversee and train temporary staff to assist with survey administration processes, and other tasks as needed.
- Update and maintain survey timeline.
- Coordinate, monitor, and track data collection administration.
Data management
- Review survey data for completeness and accuracy.
- Create brief summaries and documents for survey data.
- Clean, format, label, and archive survey data.
- Basic data cleaning and quality checks on entered data.
Report Development
- Create tables and graphs for reports and presentations as needed.
- Retrieve and compile documents, literature, resources, and data for methodological memos, reports, and presentations.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of methodological memos, methodological reports, and other documents.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of publications, which may include basic design, layout, and copy-editing presentations or other printed materials.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Management and Administration, Finance, Economics, Sociology, Community Psychology, Statistics, Social Sciences, Statistics, or a similar field.
Language : English Fluency (Written and Oral)
Experience : 3 years of experience comprising of 2 years of focus experience in project administration and management. Proficient user of Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Soft Skills : Strong problem solving, analysis, communication, and teamwork skills. Excellent organization and time management skills.
Ability to write clearly and concisely with attention to detail and target audience focus.
LOCATION : San Mateo, California. JBS currently supports a hybrid work schedule. This position must report to the San Mateo office.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk or computer workstation.
- Regularly uses a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
- Normal or corrected vision to read documents, view computer screens, and perform tasks that require visual accuracy.
- Ability to hear and understand spoken information in person and over the phone.
- Minimal lifting and carrying may be required, typically light office supplies or documents.
- Ability to move within the office environment to access equipment, files, and interact with colleagues.
- Ability to handle occasional stress related to deadlines, workloads, or challenging tasks.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Experience : 4 years of focused experience in project administration and management, 2 years of survey administration experience.
At least 1 year of project coordination experience.
