JOB SUMMARY
Process Equipment Specialist is responsible for installing, trouble shooting, repairing and maintaining cryogenic pumps, water pumps, chillers and chiller compressors, cooling tower gear boxes along with additional compressed air system components.
The specialist will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic trouble shooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.
Essential Functions
Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with co-workers, internal and external customers.
Provides technical assistance on equipment, pre-commissioning and start-ups, installations and repairs of compressed gas systems.
Including "hands-on" work to assure equipment operates to the plants requirement.
Conducts safety assessments of a continuously changing working environment
Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment
Serves as technical support for Plants, Regional, and Zone Managers
Able to research complex technical problem and find solutions
Manage OEM rotating equipment vender relationships, quality customer service performance, and compliance to Matheson standards and commitments.
Documents service and installation activities by completing work orders for each job.
Maintains rapport with Bulk Process Manager, other Process Equipment Specialist by identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques and recommending system improvements
Explains practices, procedures, and policies to reach agreement with suppliers and others outside of the job area
Performs tasks requiring analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Provides assistance and training to Plant Technicians
Ensure the proper precision measuring tools are in use and maintained for diagnostic trouble shooting.
Works with TAR Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs
Daily travel to Plant sites, occasional overtime, and sporadic on-call emergency service is required to meet Matheson Bulk needs
Basic vibration troubleshooting
Assist in developing and continual review of Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMP's) per type of equipment; You need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.

Able to troubleshoot complex technical problems, find solutions and handle more than one critical job at a time.
Able to effectively manage technical projects and personnel from business presentation through hand off.
Effective communication verbally and in writing with co-workers, internal and external customers.
Intermediate to advance utility software and computer skills such as MS Word, Excel, PPT, AutoCAD, CMMS, etc.

Work along with Reliability Manager, Rotating Manager, Plant Manager, Regional Ops Manager, and Zone Manager, TAR Coordinator to define and plan scope.
Pro-active with a "can do" attitude and an ability to find solutions within a fast-paced environment.
- Facilitate Pre - Job Safety meetings to communicate risks, address support requests and make key decisions.
- This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage) with NFPA or equivalent standards.
- This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line with the safety policy.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Flexibility of hours may be required during Outage.
Role will be performed in office environments as well as in industrial field environments. May also be required to work from a home location, which must be conducive to performing the role and duties, including virtual / video meetings
