Position Overview :
As a District Manager, you will oversee merchandising operations for your assigned area and supervise field representatives including Merchandisers, Leads, and Territory Managers.
This is a Trainee position, so it is expected you will start as a Merchandiser / Lead Merchandiser (based on experience) and work your way up to a DM role.
Responsibilities listed below reflect the DM position you will be working into.
Job Responsibilities :
- Schedule representatives to merchandise store deliveries per weekly program. Send daily schedule to Scheduling Administrator every evening.
- Review reports daily and provide weekly updates to Operations Manager.
- Receive communication from broker regarding feature / order changes and disperse this information to field reps immediately upon receipt to prevent delays in proper store service.
- Maintain relationships with store managers and receivers.
- Supervise, manage, mentor, and evaluate Merchandisers & Territory Leads in your assigned area.
- Train new representatives and ensure Standard Operating Procedure and Scope of Work are adhered to; including dress code, badges, sign in / out procedures, and accurate reporting.
- Audit and verify the work of merchandisers, then communicate any issues to representatives and ensure corrective action.
If a representative doesn’t improve after retraining, seek hiring replacement.
- Travel and merchandise any stores not covered by assigned field representatives, acting as a backup in case of call outs.
- Assist in the recruiting process and communicate hiring needs to the HR team.
- Address any client or store-level concerns and remedy any issues.
- Complete (web-based) accurate and timely reporting.
Accountabilities :
Must maintain communication standards this is a fast-paced work environment where challenges can arise quickly and must be addressed quickly.
If you are contacted by management, merchandisers, or client contacts, the expectation is a 2-hour response window. If for any reason you cannot meet these standards (e.
g., personal emergency), you need to alert your supervisor so that someone can be on call on your behalf.
- Must clock in arrival at any store including time in / time out, survey, and photos.
- Schedule Leads for the required number of hours based on their Territory Lead contract.
- Responsible for growing presence in the store, including increasing footage and obtaining features.
- Maintain top stock and backstock in accordance with store standards.
- Minimize call-offs, no-shows, and uncovered stores both for primary stores and the stores assigned to merchandisers within your territory.
- Ensure that the store condition of your assigned stores and all stores within the territory meet client standards. Work with merchandisers to improve store conditions for any stores that fall below standards.
