Overview
This role is esponsible for maximizing performance improvement and cost savings by proactively identifying areas for improvement, leading initiatives and projects, utilizing continuous improvement tools and techniques, analyzing and reporting key data, communicating continuous improvement activities, and training associates to accomplish the same.
Responsibilities
- Execute continuous improvement strategies by translating business objectives into actionable projects
- Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing systems and process improvements that optimize all phases of the production process;
Must stay actively involved in the development and implementation of long term quality improvement plans
- Proven leadership skills including the ability to coach, assess, evaluate, develop, motivate, and empower others
- Strong change management skills to challenge the status quo and drive improvements
- High ethical standards
- Models and supports organization’s goals and values
- Leadership by example, roll up the shirtsleeves management style and work ethic
- Management responsibilities include engineering associate(s), calibration specialist, controls engineer(s), etc within the engineering department.
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to develop strong customer satisfaction.
- Provide input for root cause analysis and corrective action. Support quality reporting and responses when needed
- Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any quality non-conformances related to product, process, and systems
- Compile data and prepare reports and conduct meetings
- Conduct and report regular audits of improvement processes that are in place
- Design and / or leads projects to implement continuous improvement actions
- Track and execute cost reduction on process improvements
- Ensure training of all associates on improvement processes, optimizes floor layout and material flow using improvement concepts
- Look for opportunities to maximize efficiency and reduce waste
- Evaluate workflow and cell design, and recommends improvements to enhance productivity and safety (5S)
- Document and communicate improvements in manufacturing overhead, efficiency, and utilization
- Share process and continuous improvement best practices throughout the organization
- Ability to function effectively at both strategic and tactical levels

Qualifications
- Bachelor degree with three years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; Associate degree required
- 5 years supervisory or leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- LEAN Six Sigma Certification (i.e. Green or Black Belt)
- Proficient in MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel) and Outlook
- Proficient in MAPICs or AS400 related software (i.e. Kronos, ERP systems)
- Continuous LEAN Six Sigma training (i.e. 5S) is highly desirable
- Highly motivated, creative and results driven personality (to drive changes)
- Solid analytical, problem solving and continuous improvement skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills communicating with employees and management
- Self-starter able to work with minimum oversight of the department manager at times
- Must be able to multi-task effectively and direct one’s efforts to the tasks requiring the most immediate attention
