Purpose of the Position :
The Athletics Announcer will provide public address or broadcast commentary at UAH athletics events, including volleyball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, and special events.
Duties / Responsibilities
- In-game announcing as either public address or broadcast commentary
- Pregame preparation including accessing statistics, starting lineups and researching teams at competition
- In-game assistance with coordinating music, promotions and advertising reads.
- Assistance postgame in breaking down public address or broadcasting equipment.
Minimum Requirements :
- High school education or equivalent.
- Prior history of working sporting events.
- Prior history of public speaking
- Effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Must understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications :
- Prior history as a public address announcer at athletics events
- Prior history as a broadcast commentator at athletics events
- Ability to communicate effectively with the general public, students, coaches, and administrators.
- Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.

$15.00 (FTE $31,200)
