Job summary
The Christian School Science Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality and faith-integrated science education to secondary-level students.
This role involves designing and implementing a curriculum that aligns with state standards while infusing biblical principles into daily lessons.
The Science Teacher creates a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering intellectual and spiritual growth in students.
Assessment, feedback, and effective communication with parents are essential components, as well as ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends.

The Science Teacher will report to the middle / high school principal, providing regular updates on curriculum development, student progress, and departmental needs.
He or she will engage in open communication with school administrators, seeking guidance and sharing insights to enhance the overall educational experience.
As a member of the faculty, the Science Teacher is expected to contribute actively to chapel services and other spiritual development activities.

Required Professional Qualities
- A minimum of an earned bachelor's degree in science, a related field, or teaching experience through an alternative certification program
- Certified or able to receive teaching certification for science through ACSI
- Commitment to Christian values and the integration of faith into the curriculum
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with both state standards and the Christian school's educational philosophy

- Employ innovative and engaging teaching methods to make science concepts accessible and relatable to students
- Provide clear and structured lessons that cater to diverse learning styles within the classroom

- Encourage students to explore the ethical and moral implications of science concepts, promoting character development and integrity
- Develop and administer assessments to evaluate students' understanding of science concepts
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents, guiding them on areas of improvement while recognizing achievements
- Monitor and track student progress, identifying opportunities for additional support or enrichment
- Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment conducive to effective learning
- Implement consistent and fair discipline policies in accordance with the Christian school's code of conduct
- Stay current with educational trends, teaching methodologies, and advancements in the field of science
- Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices
- Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about their child's academic progress and any concerns
