Job Description
Manage commercial construction projects and serve as the main point of contact on site. Site supervision is the primary responsibility of this role.
Some physical labor and material handling will likely be required as well.
- The vast majority of time will be spent in the field, on project sites.
- Communicate with and direct sub-contractors, verify accuracy of work and forecast / implement upcoming trades.
- Coordinate distribution of plans, instructions, and other documents to subcontractors as projects progress.
- Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Work, efficient in sending emails, etc.
- Attend and lead internal job flow, check set, pre-construction, safety, and punch list meetings as required.
- Supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and other field workers to ensure that projects are built to the requirements as stated in the plans, specs, schedules, codes, and laws.
- Enforce project safety & security and follow OSHA standards. Ensure safe, clean, and organized job sites.
- With the Project Manager, write and process change orders as needed.
- Attend or conduct site visit walkthroughs with clients and subcontractors.
- Schedule building inspections and correct items not in compliance with building codes.
- Engage in continuing education opportunities related to construction management, safety, material handling, etc.
- Ensure proper and accurate plans and specifications are being utilized on site.
- Evaluate subcontractors for work to be performed, including seeking out new subcontractors.

The Successful Applicant
- Associate Degree in Construction Management or similar field, or a Journeyman status in a building trade, or a combination of high school diploma with relevant experience and related certifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction industry
- Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Must be capable of reading and comprehending blueprints and specifications for institutional, commercial and industrial projects.
- Ability to develop Relationships with key stakeholder, such as owners, subcontractors, project managers, field employees.
- Solid understanding of project cost analysis.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, Email and other software used in the construction industry.
- Ability to travel and work in remote locations.
