JOB SUMMARY : The Store Maintenance Door Technician is responsible for the support of the retail operation through the maintenance, and repair of Automatic Entrance Doors and Battery powered Wheelchair Carts.

His work will allow a safe entry to the stores and a safe Wheelchair cart to operate for our customers. The final goal being that Automatic Entrance Doors operate properly and safely, and the Battery Powered Wheelchair carts are safe for our customers to operate.

This is a fulltime and salary position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Maintain the Automatic Entrance Doors and Battery Powered Wheelchair carts throughout his / her assigned stores and facilities.
  • Inspect new door installations / workmanship on new stores, buildings, etc.
  • Conduct regular, periodic checks and perform preventative maintenance on Automatic Entrance Doors and Battery Powered Wheelchair carts so that they remain operational for Security and Safety.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain all aspects of Automatic Entrance Doors and Battery Powered Wheelchair carts throughout the facilities.
  • Conceive and help develop procedures and strategies that can be adopted companywide for improved performance, reduced downtime, and cost reductions.
  • Maintain all records necessary for government and company purposes.
  • Travel to and visit retail locations and KVAT Food Stores, Inc. offices, as needed to provide repairs, new installs, and general maintenance.
  • Responsible for attending on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties through regular attendance.
  • Ensure all aspects of company policy and procedures regarding good business and department practices are followed.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNTIONS :

  • Work on a 24-hour on-call basis as needed. The goal is to develop a preventative maintenance program that prevents after hour calls.
  • Assist in-house technicians with diagnostic development.
  • Refurbish Battery operated Wheelchair Carts as directed.
  • Understand and follow confidentiality policy regarding company information as well as personnel information.
  • Other tasks assigned for completion as assigned by Direct Supervisor or Executive Company Official.
  • Utilize time management skills and prioritization to accomplish tasks through management team and associates.
  • Verification, completion, and distribution of vital department reports, management reports, documents, and paperwork via written, verbal, or e-mail to the appropriate individuals as deemed by supervision and / or policy.
  • Complete documentation of activities as required.
  • Follow all safety and security measures and guidelines.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in low voltage, motors and / or electrical systems installation, inspection, and repair.
  • Valid and unrestricted U.S. Driver’s license.
  • Must pass drug screen.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and / or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact / interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
  • Ability to attend on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties through regular attendance.
