Position Summary :

KES, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer with extensive knowledge and experience in US Navy Combatant Craft construction, alteration and modernization.

The Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for the administration, planning, scheduling and budget for assigned projects. Coordinates daily activities, resolves resource conflicts within the company, and resolves customer issues.

Responsibilities :

The Sr. Project Engineer (SPE) will provide project and engineering support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division Detachment Norfolk, Combatant Craft Division (NSWCCDDN), Code 83 for the following key task areas :

  • Design, Engineering, and Lifecycle Tasks / Functions including, but not limited to the following :
  • Total Life Cycle Technical Support
  • Acquisition Engineering Support
  • Systems Engineering Technical Process Support
  • In-Service Engineering Support
  • Human Factors Engineering (HFE)
  • Survivability
  • Environmental Effects
  • Reliability and Maintainability Engineering
  • Boat Inventory Management (BIM)
  • Naval Architect Engineering and Design
  • Mechanical Engineering and Design
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Design
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) / Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
  • Proof of Design Engineering
  • Test and Evaluation
  • Watercraft Inspections and Checks

Experience :

  • Fifteen 15 years in the operation, maintenance, design, or testing of U.S Navy watercraft and watercraft systems and equipment
  • Knowledge of specifications and regulatory requirements (NAVSEA, USCG, ABS)
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance

Educational Requirements :

A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

Preferred Skills :

  • Small / High Speed Craft / Boat design experience highly preferred
  • Shipyard Experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Knowledge of Shipboard Installation practices IAW NAVSEA Tech Spec 9090-310
  • Knowledge and experience in Acquisition and Systems Engineering, Logistics, Integration and Test and Evaluation
