BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY :
AIS is dedicated to developing real production fastener solutions for our customers by supporting them with custom engineering, valuable product insight, and a global portfolio of suppliers.
This job requires the employee to collect current market information insuring accurate and competitive pricing is provided on all quotations.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Customer Focused, Be Curious and Open Minded, Passionate Team Player, Say / Do, Get to Yes!
- Provide accurate and timely pricing information on all quotations
- Enter supplier prices, lead-time, deviations, etc. into a quote system and maintain all supporting documentation
- Manage the quotation and follow-up process in support of the organizational goals
- Grow product sales and margins by making accurate pricing decisions through strategic supplier selection, applying product knowledge and leveraging the Sourcing team’s industry experience
- Educate Account Managers and Outside Salespeople on the value of pricing decisions based on the selected supplier
- Coordinate activities between Account Managers, Outside Salespeople, other functional areas of the business and Suppliers to meet organizational goals

- Participating in Cross Functional Special Projects
- Position requires frequent contact outside the company with the supply base.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business, Finance, or Engineering) or 2 years of relevant experience.
- Direct OEM Fastener or Component supply chain experience preferred
SKILLS :
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and in professional manner both verbally and in writing
- Ability to determine possible challenges and obstacles and negotiate and persuade to Get to Yes
- Organized and detail minded to document and stay on track with processes, to follow up with all associated parties
- Must have a strong sense of urgency to keep a steady pulse on moving forward with projects, processes, and deadlines
- Ability to organize competing tasks and responsibilities and accomplish goals and meet deadlines
- Ability to analyze and develop solutions to problems
- Ability to lead yourself and be self-motivated
- Have a mindset of integrity for best practices and for being a professional in manner and demeanor
- Have strong mathematical skills with accuracy and correctness
- Proficient and adept in Microsoft Excel
- Basic Blueprint Reading (preferred)

- Infrequent travel (less than 5%) required
Compensation starting at $44310 -69630 depending on experience
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities.
Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
