ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Security Guard Lead for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located on Shemya Island in Alaska.
This is a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule with three months on-site at Eareckson Air Station (EAS), located in Shemya, AK and one month off, unpaid.
While working on-site, the organization provides housing as a dormitory facility. The cafeteria provides all meals. Government sponsored aircraft provides transportation to Eareckson Air Station (EAS), from Anchorage.
If you live outside of Anchorage, you are responsible for your own transportation to get to Anchorage, AK.
- The Security Guard II / Lead QAA is responsible for a variety of security-related Must be able to follow SOP’s which outline procedures such as Entrance / Exit posts;
- Roving Posts; Traffic Control; Control, Issuance and Storage of Keys; Security and Fire Systems; Building Rules and Regulations;
Unauthorized Access; Response to Injury / Illnesses; TSA, and other additional duties as required by contract. Incumbent enforces regulations and procedures designed to prevent breaches of security, exercises judgment and uses discretion in responding to incidents and emergencies, determining whether to intervene directly, ask for assistance as time permits, keep situation under control or surveillance, or to report incident or situation to the appropriate authority for handling.
Duties require specialized training in methods and techniques of protecting controlled areas. Commonly, the incumbent is required to carry and demonstrate proficiency with firearms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for signature authority for certified agent.
Keeps manager apprised of mission status.
Directs and coordinates activities.
Conducts static and dynamic security functions at Entry Control Points and Dismounted and Mounted Roving Patrols.
Follows written procedures according to safe weapons and ammunition handling, issuance, and storage.
Understands cases warranting Use of Force.
Deals with international, national, state, and local agencies in direct support of national security, anti-terrorism, JPAS, OPSEC, COMSEC, asset transport, and personnel security,.
Performs roving patrol inspections and performs RAMS as required.
Monitors Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and static camera in alarmed facilities, providing Immediate Visual Assessment (IVA) and determining cause of alarms.
Announce alarms for Site Control Monitoring Station (SCMS), Silent Knight and Fireworks Alarm Systems.
Monitor equipment that control critical mechanical components and related equipment for Protection Level-1 resources and make the appropriate notification in circumstances involving catastrophic or partial system failure.
Maintains a detailed 24-hour daily events log and other documents, ensuring accurate and thorough entries.
Ensures the safety of persons, premises, and property by observing and reporting unlawful, unauthorized, or suspicious activity.
Perform base locator duties as necessary (example : emergency, work-related).
Operates security vehicle, may detain personnel who commit serious crimes or are a danger to themselves or others until civil authorities can affect an arrest.
Leads other guards on shift
Performs related work as assigned.

Requirements :
Minimum Qualifications
Meet one of the following experience requirements :
Three years of security experience within the past five years, or
An Associate's degree or at least 60-semester hours college credit in any field of study,
Three (3) years military or National Guard Experience (active or reserve), or
Successful completion of Police Officer Standard Training (POST) course, or
Any reasonable combination of the above,
Obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Valid Driver's License
Alaska Security Guard License
Preferred
Ability to Join Emergency Response Team.
Certified Weapons Instructor recognized and approved by the State of Alaska.
