The Buca Mission is to provide every guest with an over the top celebratory experience by delivering vibrant Italian food in an eclectic vintage setting.

The Utility Porter position contributes to the success of Buca di Beppo by cleaning kitchen and restaurant equipment, removing refuse from the premises, and cleaning small wares, glasswares, and plate-ware.

The Kitchen Utility’s responsibility is to achieve and provide a sanitary work environment and maintain a clean and orderly dining atmosphere.

Reporting Relationship : The Utility Porter reports to the Manager on Duty. The Utility Porter works directly with the Back of the House as a team.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and / or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
  • Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars.
  • Sweep and scrub floors.
  • Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
  • Sort and remove the trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
  • Clean and prepare various foods for cooking or serving.
  • Prepare and package individual place settings.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them.
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
  • Unload shipments; stock and restock inventory.
  • Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
  • Work as a team and use positive communication skills at every opportunity.
  • Clean, stock, and maintain workstation throughout the shift.

Qualifications

  • Education : High School Degree or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience : No restaurant experience is required, but the custodial or similar experience is preferred.
  • Will be required to use all sensory capabilities such as vision, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching, and speaking.
