Essential Functions
- Individual will perform technical assignments in support of the testing, installation, and commissioning of automated electric distribution field devices for Eversource.
- Individual will work with various programming languages, i.e. DNP, Modbus, SEL, etc. for field devices to test RTU and device operations including but not limited to : definition of status, control, and measurement points, polling rate, unsolicited event classification
- Individual will install and test design settings for implementation in the field.
- Individual will support lab testing to verify proper design operation prior to field implementation
- Individual will support troubleshooting events related to Substation Automation equipment where field device communication is identified to have mis-operated or Substation Automation related alarms are generated.
- Individual will understand and comply with requirements and standards set forth by industry organizations and protocols such as IEEE, DNP, modbus etc...
- Individual will serve on-call and during emergency restoration efforts as required.
- Technical Knowledge / Skill / Education / Licenses / Certifications :
- Understanding of the design, specification, and installation of Substation Automation devices such as RTUs, various relays, reclosers, switches, padmount switchgear, etc
- Understanding of SCADA engineering concepts, in particular DNP 3.0 protocol
- Communications and presentation skills
- Ability to organize and work within a team to design, install, and commission a project
- Associates's Degree in Electrical or Electronic engineering or Electrical or Electronic technology, telecommunications engineering, or related discipline.
- Zero to three years of experience in engineering, programming, or testing of complex electronic systems. Experience in Energy Delivery or T&D maintenance is preferred.
A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required. Understanding of electric distribution systems is strongly preferred
Working Conditions :
- Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between CT / MA as necessary.
- Must be available for On-Call Support
- Company vehicle is provided.
