As a Senior Hazardous Material Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the movement, storage, and distribution of goods and materials within the PerkinElmer supply chain network.

This position will require a particular focus on enabling shipping of hazardous materials globally. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring efficient operations, reducing costs, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

You will collaborate closely with various internal teams, external partners, and vendors to streamline processes and enhance overall logistics performance.

Key Responsibilities :

Compliance and Regulations : Stay updated on industry regulations , standards to ensure adherence and minimize risk associated with international logistics operations.

Hazardous materials and associate data requirements will be a key area of responsibility

  • Transportation Management : Coordinate transportation activities, including carrier selection, route planning, and freight consolidation, to ensure timely delivery of goods while minimizing transportation costs.
  • Performance Monitoring : Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate logistics performance, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Vendor Management : Evaluate and select third-party logistics providers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong partnerships to ensure quality service, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to performance metrics.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, manufacturing, and customer service, to align logistics activities with overall business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement : Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, implement best practices, and leverage technology solutions to drive operational efficiency and enhance the overall logistics function.
  • Risk Management : Identify potential risks within the logistics process, develop contingency plans, and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and minimize disruptions.

This position will provide support to the following enterprise activities :

Strategic Planning : Implement logistics strategies aligned with organizational objectives to enhance efficiency, minimize costs, and improve service levels.

Basic Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in logistics and supply chain management, with a focus on strategic planning and optimization.
  • Current IATA certification; current and functional understanding of dangerous goods regulations for proper labeling, packing and shipping, classification, documentation and regulatory requirements for multi-mode shipments via Air / Surface / Ocean and the following regulatory standards : IATA, 49CFR, IMDG.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and vendors.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics processes, transportation modes, , and international trade regulations.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as ERP systems, transportation management systems (TMS), and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change within the organization.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional, Certified Logistics Professional) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

As a Senior Logistics Specialist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the company's logistics operations, driving efficiency, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout the supply chain.

Your, analytical skills, and stakeholder management will contribute to the company's overall success and competitiveness in the marketplace.

The annualcompensation range for this full-time position is $85,000 to $90,000. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
