Overview
As a Plant Buyer, you will be responsible for the purchasing and inventory management goals of predetermined product lines.
Demonstrates a solid understanding of key business areas affecting the supply chain and has an understanding of how their work impacts cross-functional groups.

- Responsible for managing the purchase of direct and indirect materials, supplies for production site.
- Address materials purchasing issues.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all activities related to purchasing materials
- Monitor and report supplier performance, with respect to operational performance
- Work in a team environment with manufacturing, production planning, quality, strategic procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and uninterrupted and smooth flow of material.
- Document and notify all concerned parties regarding shortages, delivery and related issues.
- Timely process of Purchase requisitions, expedite / de-expedite of Purchase orders, monitor on-time deliveries.
- Inventory management to include calculating safety stocks, reorder points, on time deliveries.
- Understanding of suppliers obligations for contract related goods

Minimum two years purchasing experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with experience in sourcing. Bachelor's degree in a technical or supply chain discipline strongly preferred or equivalent education combined with relevant job experience.
Strong technical understanding and interest.
- Experience with MRP systems, Excellent MS office software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings strongly preferred.
- Attention to detail : ability to meticulously review data and documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Highly motivated, high energy with the ability to both works independently and with the team.
- Project management skills, including the abilities to handle multiple projects in a fast paced. environment and work effectively with colleagues and vendors in diverse departments, geographic locations, and time zones.
- Must be a self-starter, self -managed with assertiveness and excellent analytical / problem solving skills
- Possesses the ability to identify and analyze challenges and opportunities and develop a goal-oriented approach. Takes both internal and external factors into account.
