Summary

Design or create graphics to meet specific commercial or promotional needs. The position finds the most effective way to get messages across in print and electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography and various print and layout techniques.

Works with the overall layout and production design of web banners, forms, classified ads, promotional displays, packaging, marketing brochures and other publications.

This position will also include clerical duties such as reviewing and proofing work before being sent out for publication.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design
• Previous experience in a graphic design position.
• Creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Extensive knowledge of PC and a familiarity with computer graphics and design software.

Primary Activities

• Works closely with the Marketing Officer’s in day-to-day functions.
• Interpreting the business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose.
• Designs web banners, forms, layouts, sizing for advertisements and other publications.
• Estimating the time required to complete the work and providing quotes to internal clients.
• Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through research.
• Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts.
• Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time.
• Presenting finalized ideas and concepts to managers.
• Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work.
• Working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, other designers, web developers and marketing specialists.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
