Job Summary :
Vehicle Preventive Maintenance (PM) Technicians are responsible for performing preventive maintenance on the vehicle fleet.
This position routinely requires moderate to extreme physical exertion and may require prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working in awkward positions.

Supervisory Responsibilities :
None
Duties / Responsibilities :
Perform preventive maintenance of fleet vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
Perform service runs to repair trucks / units off site as required.
Inspect, lubricate, and service fleet vehicles during preventive maintenance service - Check, fill, and / or change appropriate fluids for all vehicle parts and check / change filters.
Ensure per company maintenance schedules are followed.
Inspect vehicle support systems, such as electrical, air, and brake systems.
Perform minor repairs and adjustments to various operating systems on the vehicles, equipment, or related components.
Perform PMI's on tractors, trailers and other powered equipment / vehicles.
Perform tire and brake maintenance.
Identify and repair or report worn or failed components, leaks, etc.
Perform routine housekeeping duties related tools, materials, shop, and work areas.
Ensure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order.
Maintain accurate records (time, repair orders and parts usage) on computer, smartphone, and tablet technology.
Review electronic pre-inspection checklist and address issues daily.
Consult with immediate supervisor when a repair is outside of skill set to determine approach to ensure proper and safely in-house repairs and / or if outside vendor assistance is required.
Road-test / Test drive vehicles under 26,000 GVW
Fill in on portable unit routes, as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.

Must be able to work independently
Demonstrated experience implementing and enforcing Health and Safety laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and following prescribed instructions.
Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external team members.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
Education and Experience :
High School Diploma, prefer one year certificate from college or technical school.
Minimum of two years related experience / training.
ASE Certification in PMI & Brakes a plus.
Valid driver's license, CDL license a plus.
Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude, repair experience preferred.
Basic computer skills.
Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, instructions, signs, and safety training.
