- Required skills Must be proficient or expert in these areas : apply absorbent immobilizing dressings hemostatic clips tourniquets- assist with auto transfusion volume replacement secure drainage system to tissue- clamp / cauterize vessels or tissues- cut digital manipulation of tissue direct digital pressure- dissect common femoral artery and bifurcate- Electrocautery-bipolar and mono- harvest saphenous vein including skin incision- insert drainage tubes insert / remove F / C- manipulation of surgical materials such as loops / tags pack sponges and pad pressure points- place local hemostatic agents protect nerves from damage suctioning irrigation and sponging- suture all wound layers : muscle fascia thermoregulation tying and ligating clamped vessels / tissue- use of body stabilizer fracture table c-arm extensions head stabilizer wound dressing : liquid or spray occlusive- administer medications IV phlebotomy circulating skills drape position patient assess skin.
