JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for daily quality control label support in the fresh kitchen and / or bakery. This includes reviewing labels, ensuring proper printing, and training production team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.
There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.
- Provide assistance to all Lunds & Byerlys team members modeling company customer service standards at all times
- Maintain label quality standards and foster culture of accountability and excellence
- Ensure proper labeling standards are met including alignment, legibility, content and use by date
- Maintain label printers and troubleshoot printing issues
- Collaborate with the learning and development team to develop a comprehensive label training and verification program for production employees
- Investigate any recalls or complaints related to labels and participate in corrective and preventative actions and root cause analysis
- Help maintain quality and regulatory documentation
- Provide input on label verification process and suggest continuous improvements
- Maintain and execute food safety programs
- Understand the label database and its components

Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education
- Two-year technical degree in chemistry, biology, food science or equivalent experience
- Experience
- One to three years' experience in plant quality assurance and label verification.
- Familiar with label regulatory requirements.
- GMP and HACCP knowledge preferred

- Ability to respond to continually changing priorities and coordinate multiple projects

- Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, SQF and all other regulatory agencies while complying with good manufacturing practices
- Planning, organizing and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English
